Emotional Intelligence Framework Are emotional intelligence or project management skills more important? The practical skills of project management and the project management framework are essential for helping project managers to know where they are going and what they need to get there, but these skills and guides do not help with direct application. If a project manager, wants apply a framework to his team then he needs emotional intelligence and leadership qualities. The Emotional Intelligence Framework is a guide to help develop the qualities of a leader. First, a leader must learn to be self-aware. In the temple complex at Luxor, it says on the wall, â€Å"The body is the house of god. That is why it is said, ‘Man know yourself.’† As you begin to know yourself, you cannot help but see many of the attributes of divinity within. This is how you gain unshaken self-confidence and know that you can handle any situation. Being self-aware is the key stone that holds it all together when challenges beat upon you. Next is self-management and self-control. You have to be able to keep you cool and manage your emotions at times when any normal person would lose their cool. Abraham Lincoln said, â€Å"Be sure to put your feet in the right place, then stand firm.† How have I learned to be in control and self-aware?
